Stand-in Drivetime host Sam Matterface was left stunned when Arsenal fan Ash phoned talkSPORT to say Harry Kane was not even in the Premier League’s top ten finishers.He left Matterface further perplexed by claiming the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Olivier Giroud had more of an eye for goal than the Tottenham and England forward.2

Kane scored the winning goal during England’s Nations League win over Croatia on Sunday

It all started when Matterface put forward the question to listeners on whether Kane was the best finisher in the world following his heroics during England’s Nations League win over Croatia on Sunday.And Ash certainly had plenty to say for himself when he made his appearance on national radio.He said: “There are at least about five players better than him [Kane] at finishing; Im not even going to talk about the trophies he HASNT won yet.“Hes not even in the top ten finishers in the Premier League at the moment. “Youve got Arnautovic and if you have Giroud on a good day hes better, Im not even going to talk about Sergio Aguero or Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino Sadio Mane or Jamie Vardy, there are so many players above Kane at the moment.“He CAN be the best. He isnt at the moment but he can be.”Kane has 114 Premier League goals in 165 appearances for Spurs.And although Arnautovic has been in good goalscoring form since joining West Ham, he only has 38 goals in 160 appearances in English football.2

Kane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as a result of his fantastic record in front of goal

It’s not all a one-sided view from Arsenal supporters, though, with Gunners legend telling talkSPORT Kane is likely to eventually surpass Wayne Rooney as England’s greatest goal getter.Rooney finished his international career with 53 goals in 120 games, while Kane has already scored 20 in 35 matches, including six in the 2018 World Cup to take home the Golden Boot.
