Manchester United made it six wins on the bounce for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a 1-0 success at Tottenham.Marcus Rashford fired home a first-half winner and David De Gea was superb in the thrilling Wembley clash. Here are talkSPORT’s player ratings for the Premier League showdown.4
Tottenham
HUGO LLORIS: There were slight question marks over his effort for United’s goal having got a hand to Marcus Rashford’s effort, but made three fine saves after the break. 7 (out of 10)KIERAN TRIPPIER: Was at fault for United’s opening goal as he carelessly gave possession away to Paul Pogba and was under par throughout most of the game. 5TOBY ALDERWEIRELD: Playing against the team who were keen to sign him in the summer, he was the most assured of Tottenham’s back line and almost scored. 6JAN VERTONGHEN: Making his first start after eight games out with a thigh injury, his lack of pace was exposed by United’s speedy frontline. 5BEN DAVIES: Davies registered his 100th Premier League appearance for Spurs and was solid, if unspectacular. 6MOUSSA SISSOKO: Was putting himself about in his usual all-action style until suffering a groin injury before half-time. Spurs conceded two minutes later. 6HARRY WINKS: Who knows how the game might have gone if Winks stuck away an early chance. Poor. 54SUBS
ERIK LAMELA (on for Sissoko 43): Tried to offer a different dimension in attack but invariably chose the wrong option. 5FERNANDO LLORENTE (on for Winks 81): Thrown on as part of the cavalry, missed a golden chance. 44Manchester United
DAVID DE GEA: Had nothing to do in the first half but won United the game with an incredible second-half display, making a string of fantastic saves. 10ASHLEY YOUNG: One of two players to retain their place from the FA Cup win against Reading, he worked hard and provide attacking impetus. 7VICTOR LINDELOF: Made his 50th United appearance and continued his good form with a solid performance. 7PHIL JONES: Remains the only other option to partner Lindelof due to injuries and suspension. Did well enough under incessant second-half pressure. 6LUKE SHAW: Not as much licence to maraud down the left but did his work diligently. 7ANDER HERRERA: Nobody will question the midfielder’s workrate, but some of the quality was missing. 6NEMANJA MATIC: Not enjoyed the best of seasons but shielded the defence well, especially in the first half. 74SUBS
ROMELU LUKAKU (for Martial, 73): Provided a threat on the counter-attack but his side were mainly defending after coming back on. 5DIOGO DALOT (for Lingard, 83): Brought on for late reinforcements. 5SCOTT MCTOMINAY (for Pogba, 90): His introduction was a time-wasting exercise.
