They have lost six of their last nine matches and the decision was made to axe McCall.First-team coach Andy Dawson will be in caretaker charge for Scunthorpe’s remaining seven games of the campaign.A brief statement on the club’s official website read: “Scunthorpe have parted company with first-team manager Stuart McCall. Andy Dawson will be caretaker manager for the rest of the season.”McCall became manager at Glanford Park in August after Nick Daws was sacked just four matches into the season. A run of five victories in six had Scunthorpe in mid-table at the end of January, but just two wins since means they have dropped to 18th in the table.They are involved in a 13-way battle for relegation in a tight division with four teams dropping down to League Two.
