The penalty was awarded following an intervention by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).Referee Damir Skomina had initially given a corner after Diogo Dalot’s shot deflected off Presnel Kimpembe but after looking at a replay of the incident on a monitor decided to award a spot-kick.Neymar, who missed both legs through injury, was captured on video looking furious as Rashford dispatched the winning spot-kick.And the Brazilian superstar took to Instagram after the game to insist the goal should never have stood. The 27-year-old wrote: “This is a disgrace, they put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.“There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go f**k yourselves!”Romelu Lukaku had earlier scored twice for United in the first half, either side of Juan Bernat’s goal for PSG.Lukaku scored two goals for the third straight gameGetty3

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel defended Neymar’s angry reaction following the team’s exit.He said: “Of course it’s a strong reaction, he was at the field.“Sometimes after a big fight you use words and reaction emotionally that you take back some hours later.“He wanted to come back with us in the quarter-finals and he’s been biting his nails at every game we’ve played, so don’t be too hard with him.“I wouldn’t over-interpret the use of his words. In the heat of the moment, it’s quickly typed into a smart phone.”
